Healing the Hurt

Healing the hurt

In the natural order of things, love flows freely from one generation to the next – from grandparents to parents to children. However, life’s events, especially trauma, often cause us to lose parts of our own essence, our ability to love freely.

Each generation has been touched by events such as wars, the early death of parents or children, or political events that have touched the lives of thousands. When faced with tragedy and trauma our usual response is to close of the most precious parts of ourselves in order to protect them from external circumstances. In this was we begin to feel separated from our true nature and feelings of loneliness, sadness, even depression can follow.

In addition to this, when we are born to parents who have suffered, on a subconscious level we can take on their feelings with the hope that if we carry a portion of our mother or father’s suffering that they may be able to merge in love with us in a more complete way that will nourish us. However, this never works, all is serves to do is to keep us stuck in a place that we often do not have the energy to get out of single handed.

Through Family Constellation and Trans-Generational Healing work we can begin to restore the love across generations and allow it to flow more naturally from one generation to the next again. It is a gentle and profound process in which we can allow ourselves to leave the suffering where it belongs with a deep sense of respect and free ourselves from being entangled in the fate of others.

So often, the feelings that are a burden to us are not even our own; we have simply made them our own and have such identification with them that we believe that they originate with us.

Through disentangling ourselves from the fate of others, we allow love to flow once more – within us and though us. Healing the hurt is about restoring the love within us; it is about restoring our hearts to the innocence of childhood. Open, fresh, effervescent, grounded in simple truths.
